  • Sure. You could work for Cherry Creek Flash, or Slave to the Needle, or Flashspace.com or Brainchild... the list goes on. Flash is very expensive, I'm sure that the artists that sell the stuff we buy, are making a good living. Usually, the flashboards come with liner sheets, and cost a hundred and a half for a set of eight. I know there's money in it, we update our flash constantly, and it's pricey. You have to keep abreast of the inked scene, and know what's selling at any given time. Big stuff sells, little stuff sells real good. Hell, I'd be interested in seeing what you got. I collect flash myself. If the price is right, and it's what I want, we can get together.

Helix piercing or tragus piercing?

Resolved Question

Helix piercing or tragus piercing?

i want to get either a helix piercing or a tragus piercing, but i don't know which one to get. i definitely do not want both piercings, so i need to decide on which one. i've heard that the tragus piercing really hurts but i've looked on here and people have said it doesn't? does it hurt? also i found out on here that helix piercings (the piercing at the top of your ear) does hurt. can someone please answer all the questions. this may help me decide a little. thanks! xoxo

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

i just got my helix done and i'm 13. i got mine done with a needle, the correct way. i hope you are too! it's safer, more sterile, and less painful!! honestly, the actual piercing doesn't hurt at all. you hear a funny squish noise that make you want to laugh believe it or not! then you feel a dull, numb pain, but like i said, the pain is muted to the point where it's like you feel it slightly in the distance. it's hard to explain, but it doesn't hurt. then, when you go to clean it later, it hurts. i'm not gonna lie. BUT its nothing that would keep you from getting it done. besides, it only for the first 5 day. it helped me to close my eyes, take deep breathes, and have my mom clean it. it calmed me down. i got it i done a month ago and i'm going to change it in a week. it's almost healed already because i got it done with a needle. also, even if you want a stud like i did get a hoop. i never planned on wearing a hoop but i got it and i ended up liking it. if you get it pierced with a stud it causes a hoop on the back of your ear that will make your piercing hurt forever. that's why you hear people talk about the bumps on their cartilage piercings. anyway, my step mother has a tragus piercing and said it hurts more than any other part of your ear and belly button. hope this helps!

Why in this day and age is there no pain relief for having a tattoo???They dont use creams or gels,why not a local anesthetic first?I bet the celebs have something to numb it??!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Hi there, I am not a tattoo artist but there is actually a cream that you can buy now which numbs your skin. My tattoo studio sell it and its £5 tube. apparently it works a treat. have a look around and I am sure you will find somewhere that sells it.

  • I'm not a tattoo artist, however I've read that most substances marketed for this purpose make the skin swell, and can result in a distorted tattoo. Also, if it didn't hurt at least a little bit, you'd probably have way more people rushing into the process and making stupid and careless decisions.

Mess up your nose? no dear.

You might find it's better to put moisturiser on after a shower though. Using it on top of all that dried sweat could give you spots.

What would you suggest for my piercing?

Resolved Question

What would you suggest for my piercing?

hey guys!
okay so i got my helix (upper ear) pierced about 5 months ago. i got it done with a professional and a needle, because i knew that a gun can shatter your ear cartilage. my friends have had it done with a gun and been fine, but i like barbells and bcr anyway.
so i think i will give it another month until i change it and dye my hair again (its healing really well!) but i dont really know what to put in it when i do change it.
right now i have a bcr so can you suggest anything that you have found to be really good?
and i would REALLY appreciate any online shops that you could suggest for me, ones that you know are good and work well. (i live in the UK by the way.)
so thanks for your help.

Has anyone got a tattoo with there partners name and vice vesa.?

Resolved Question

Has anyone got a tattoo with there partners name and vice vesa.?

What would you think looks good, I have 1 already bot would love
his name

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I've got my mother's name (got it after she passed away) on the top of my wrist. This which works out for my fiance because she has the same name. Only my friends and family know my mother's name, thus, pretty much everyone else I run across assumes it was done for her.

Getting an SO's name is a huge risk. Some marriages that seem perfect seem to fall apart out of nowhere. Likewise, some stay together till death does them part.

If you truly want to do it and doing it would make you happy, then I'd say go for it. At worse case, you'll have to cover it up, so atleast get it somewhere you wouldn't mind having a larger tattoo. If you're doing something that's a risk, might as well play it safe, just in case.

The whole "bad luck" or "curse" talk is pure mumbo jumbo. If you stay together forever or break up next year it will happen regardless if you have his name or not. Odds are odds, fate is fate, superstition is for fools.

  • Definitely agree on not tattooing a partners name on you. I personally don't like much tattooed script anyways. But it just seems like tattooing someone's name on you dooms the relationship, lol. Plus women outlive men, so what if he passes away and you find a new love and have a constant reminder to the new guy of the old one?

    I think the matching tattoos or the idea of an image that reminds you of your partner is a better idea if you have your mind set on getting a tattoo to honor your relationship. Just make sure it's something you can live with should things end badly.

    I too love my man and think I'll be with him forever, but I wouldn't tattoo his name on me. Maybe it's just being superstitious, lol.
  • I've been married for 7 years and have a variety of tattoos but I don't have my husbands name tattooed nor do I plan to ever. It's not that I don't love my husband or believe that we will last. It's just something that I don't see as something I have to do. It's true you never know what the future holds and if i'm understanding your question it seems like you already have another mans name tattooed? Why don't you look into a cover up or how someone else said they have a matching tattoo instead. You don't want to be left w/ two different names tattooed on yourself.

    Source(s):

  • My partner has gone my name tattooed over where his heart is, and I have my sons initials, and Im getting my baby son's initials soon. Me and my partner are getting meaningful song lyrics for eachother, and I'm thinking about roman numeral lettering on my wrist of either the date we met first, got together or got engaged... or wait till the wedding and that the wedding date. I would get his name but I'd rather get something more symbolic
  • No, never. It's a bad omen.

    I love my husband very much, married 16 years. I don't need his name on my body as proof of anything. And I would be disappointed if he got my name on his body.

    The only names one should get on their body is there own name, dead relatives/pets, their kids/pets.

    Source(s):

  • I say don't get his name. Get something in reference to his name. Something that is his name but not. i.e. My friend dated a guy named Patrick. She didn't get his name tattooed on her or anything but she had a key chain of Patrick from Sponge Bob. A little inside thing between them. Personally I think it's crazy to have a man's name tattooed on you unless you get married. My name starts with a N and my BF nickname is Vedo. So we were going to get matching tattoos that said "NV". like envy. Its little things that keep you from having to cover up a tattoo bc it ended bad.
  • I would never get one. And I love my husband, we just got married as a matter of fact. Even in the moment I am the most positive that we'll be together forever, I still don't think it's a good idea...you never know.
    A friend of mine got his girlfriend's date tattooed on his arm...shortly after she cheated on him and dumped him. Scary stuff.
  • no way, who knows what the future holds, you may feel like its forever but in 10 years time it could all be different. My husband is called Ian, if I had his name and we split i could add a D and and E and make it DianE which is my name, I never would do though
  • I've got my partners name in chinese running down the back of neck, everyone complements me on it. I had mine done a couple of years ago when nobody really had them there but now everyone seems to be having them on there neck.
  • Me and my boyfriend don't have one anothers names, but we do have matching tattoos. He has his on his chest and I have mine under my rib. It says 'Yours eternally' in Hebrew.
    x o x o
  • i'd get it in another language like sandscript or a symbol or something that reminds you of him....his name is just too risky the amount of times people have done it then split up man
  • I wouldn't get a name tattoo of a partner, just encase anything happened and we split.. But my girl friend's partner is planning on getting her name on his back, after purposing to her..x
  • Nope, not that stupid.

    Source(s):

  • No, I don't have his name but on my shoulder I have the date I met him and my sons birthday.
  • i say get the old one covered, and if u really think u going to be with this guy for awhile then go for it

  • Don't worry about the pain.

    That will come later when people think you were a fool to put a tat on your wrist. Personally I think that if someone wants to do somethng go ahead.

    But if you think this will not impact your life at some point just keep thinking it.
  • everyone is different on how well they deal with pain, the wrist is tender you have alot of nerve endings in that area, different areas of the body are not as tender.
  • it really depends on were you get it . ive got 1 on my forearm and that wasnt sore and my gf has got about 4 neck,lower back ,ankle ,wrist and she,s no tough nut. tougher than me tho lol
  • i got a tatto of a star on my wrist last year. it didnt hurt as much as i thought it would. it was sore for about a week. then it was ok after that.
  • I seriously would think about having a tatoo because, they may look 'cool' for a while but tatoo's are permimant, so just imagine youreslf when you are 70 odd and wrinkley with this tatoo across your wrist. NOW THAT IS NOT 'COOL'
  • I have a tattoo on both wrists and love them.Pain was a 1(for me anyway,I have a high pain threshold)
  • Painful anywhere but more so on a boney bit!

Had a tattoo on my wrist 6 days ago?

Resolved Question

Had a tattoo on my wrist 6 days ago?

it has been fine since but today its itchy. not red or irritated just itchy. is this normal ?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

It could be normal, or it could be a reaction. You'll find out if you swell and lose color. If you stick to your aftercare sheet rules you'll be fine. Aquaphor or A&D for the first few days, in VERY thin applications not more than three to five times a day. Like the other people said, switch to non scented lubriderm lotion after that and apply like the ointment. Make sure you're cleaning your tattoo with gentle, antibacterial soap in between applications of ointment or lotion and pat dry with a clean towel. Don't rub or wipe.
Some people just itch like crazy and there is nothing you can do about it. Don't get any fancy creams or think it's okay to rub up and down over your clothing to alleviate the itching, because it's just as bad. I once woke up to a bleeding tattoo because I was scratching it on my ankle in my sleep. It caused loss of ink and I will never forgive myself...and it was in my sleep!!! lol, what could I do?
You'll be fine. If it's an allergic reaction to the ink, you'll know soon enough and you can contact the artist if you suspect that. Red and yellow inks are the most common culprits in these instances. Just try really really hard not to itch.

  • Yes completely normal, whatever you do, do not scratch it! Buy some H20 Tattoo cream or A&D (get the h20 if you can) and use that on your tattoo whenever it become dry. It will start to get flakey and start to peel, don't mess with it. The scabs are holding in the color, so as long as you can keep the scabs on, the better the color will turn out

    Source(s):

  • Yes it is perfectly normal and is all part of the healing process, what cream are you using on it?

    I would suggest using bepenthan cream (it is a nappy rash cream) it helps soothe the itching

    Source(s):

  • when you heal it itches because you have dead skin blocking your pores. So it creates an itching sensation to make you itch it off so it stops clogging your pores. BUT DON'T ITCH IT!!! You will pull the ink out of you tattoo and smear it if you itch it and it will look like ****!

    Source(s):

  • Yeah it should be fine, it's just healing. Essentially it's a healing wound, and most wounds itch at some point during the scab phase. Just don't scratch it!
  • yeah thats totally normal i have both wrists tattooed =] i put sudo cream on it to stop me itching it =]

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

thats bc you took it out!!! listen lip piercings close really fast, in a matter of hours trust me. this is my 3rd time getting it pierced/tapered. your going to have to go get it tapered. bring your old jewelry with you and go to the shop, tell the piercer you took it out for a while and you get only get it half way back in. she will taper the half thats closed (which pretty much means re-pierce) and put it back in for you. I dont think they will charge you. they never charge me. well good luck. and if you ever want to take it out for some reason you can go to places like claires and get invisible ones to put through so you dont have to take it out and leave it out.

    this happens alot
    it happened with my nose ring, you should get a retainer for it;D
    and uh id definitly just go to the place where you got it done and explain whats up, everytime i go for some help with my smiley or anything they are always lovely and help me out,
    if your that desperate to get it back in try getting a needle and just pushing it through a bit (make sure its steralised) an earing isnt really the best thing to use since the end is blunt, just try with the needle though its what i do somtimes;D
    hope i helped in some way...;D
  • Try using soap and with warm water and then try to insert it.If you are having trouble,you can always walk into a tattoo shop and someone will help you with this.
  • Soak some cotton wool in warm water and hold it on your lip for a few seconds. This should make it a little easier to get the bar back through.

Changing my tragus piercing?

Resolved Question

Changing my tragus piercing?

Hey, so i got my tragus pierced six weeks ago now, and just after having it done a small lump came up next to the bar. I got the lump looked at and was told it was a keloid. I have been doing salt water washes for the past few weeks now and the lump has gone down loads and is not as noticeable. The piercing doesn't hurt but i was wondering if anyone knows whether it would be ok for me to change the bar now? I don't really like the plain silver one i have in now and want to put in a coloured titanium one i bought. Thanks :)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I had the same thing happen to mine. To be honest, 6 weeks is not quite long enough to change a tragus piercing. I would wait at least 2 more weeks before you try and change it.

If you want to change the jewelry now, make sure it is either a hoop or a long bar. I found that the bump on my ear came back when I changed my jewelry because the back was always against my ear. Once I made room for the piercing to "breathe", the bump started to go away. I used tea tree oil to dry the skin and after a while the bump disappeared completely.

If you would like to change the jewelry now, even if it is a hoop or long bar, you should go to the piercer and have him or her change it for you. Chances are, it will be far less irritated if you have them do it for you. It is kind of difficult to change a tragus piercing because of the placement, so for the first time it would be best to do it quickly and in the cleanest way possible!

Can a tattoo be too intricate?

Resolved Question

Can a tattoo be too intricate?

This is what I was thinking of getting, but I am wondering, is this possible to tattoo since the slender lines that divide it up are very narrow and intricate? - http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8834/tbdt…

Also, can anyone give me an idea of how much one this size would cost?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

It'd be a real pain in the @$$, is what it would be. It's on a black field, as a negative image. Your skin isn't coal black. If you wouldn't agree to the artist changing that, in order to make it 'tattooable', they probably won't mess with it at all. If you let 'em change it around, right at a hundred and twenty. If you don't, it's anyones guess. Whatever they feel like scalping you for. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Take care.
