Yes it can cause acne.

It's a mineral oil, a byproduct of crude oil production, it's basically waste material that they package to sell on. All it does is sit on the surface of your skin, collecting dirt and bacteria, clogging up pores. Vasaline is just generally not a good thing to use on your skin full-stop, if you suffer from acne you may want to look into oil cleansing method, pretty much the best way to keep your skin healthy and clear.

  • Vaseline is petroleum. When applied, nothing gets in the skin and nothing gets out. So yes it can cause acne. Its just suffocating the skin.

  • No it can not cause acne, it is a barrier to water - so I do not think it will help your acne, as it will stop fresh air getting to your skin.
  • Yes very much so! That would be a HUGE cause! You're putting a thick oil on your skin, I think that would be common sense....
  • plot??
