Will my helix piercing be alright if I let it heal and go to school?
Basically, one of the reasons my mum doesn't want me to get a helix piercing is because she says I can't take care of it and go to school. But everyone I've talked to at school that has had a helix piercing says that it's okay, and they have taken care of theirs. I thought all I had to do was clean it once a day. And I could do that in the morning right? What do you think? If it changes anything, I would get it done with a needle - im never choosing a gun!

Thanks for the info. I think my mum was worried I would have to wash it at school, but from what you've said I don't think I will need to. And I have to cover my piercing with a plaster/tape for Physical Education, but it's lucky we're not doing any 'ball' events this term.

I am happy you said you are getting pierced with a needle and not a gun!
That being said, attending school will not affect our piercing at all. You should be cleaning it 2-3 times a day, not just once, but you could do that before school, after school, and before bed if needed. Being in school is a distraction from the piercing, which is good since you shouldn't be playing with it during the healing process anyway.
The only negative thing I can think of while being in school with the piercing during the healing process is if you are required to take a physical education class the first 8 weeks during healing. If you are, you may be at risk of having it bumped with sports equipment or with other classmates during physical activity. Aside from that scenario, I think you should be fine.

- First off, no one pierces a helix with a gun. I hope you know the helix piercing is one of the most painful ones (my best friend has it, i have my rook, tragus, navel pierced - took out my industrial).
If you take care of it, you will be fine. You only have to clean it once a day at night with unscented soap and a sea salt and water soak (just on the ear).
You can go to school the next day. - A piercing has nothing to do with your performance at school, sorry.
It will heal just fine as long as you take care of it and do what your piercer says. It doesnt take much to take care of it..and like I said, would have NO affect whatsoever on school.Source(s):
