Changing my tragus piercing?
Hey, so i got my tragus pierced six weeks ago now, and just after having it done a small lump came up next to the bar. I got the lump looked at and was told it was a keloid. I have been doing salt water washes for the past few weeks now and the lump has gone down loads and is not as noticeable. The piercing doesn't hurt but i was wondering if anyone knows whether it would be ok for me to change the bar now? I don't really like the plain silver one i have in now and want to put in a coloured titanium one i bought. Thanks :)

I had the same thing happen to mine. To be honest, 6 weeks is not quite long enough to change a tragus piercing. I would wait at least 2 more weeks before you try and change it.
If you want to change the jewelry now, make sure it is either a hoop or a long bar. I found that the bump on my ear came back when I changed my jewelry because the back was always against my ear. Once I made room for the piercing to "breathe", the bump started to go away. I used tea tree oil to dry the skin and after a while the bump disappeared completely.
If you would like to change the jewelry now, even if it is a hoop or long bar, you should go to the piercer and have him or her change it for you. Chances are, it will be far less irritated if you have them do it for you. It is kind of difficult to change a tragus piercing because of the placement, so for the first time it would be best to do it quickly and in the cleanest way possible!

- you could but i would not recommend it as it can be quiet awkward to change them at first. i would leave it for another while to be honest.
