Suggestions for a butterfly tattoo?

Resolved Question

Suggestions for a butterfly tattoo?

i'm wanting to get a butterfly tattoo done soon and would like some advise on colours and designs. I want it on the base of my back, to be tastefull, quite small with vibrant colours and unusual. I've already got three tattoos, one on my shoulder of a chinese symbol with an ice-blue back drop, and two running down my spine of a seahorse with my daughter's name underneath and of another chinese symbol with my son's name . I dont want my husband's name tattoo'd as i dont want to tempt fate.you never know what's round the corner. Anyone have nice looking botterfly's and could they share pics?

  • My Suggestion---------Don't Do It!
  • i don't think you should ask others for advice on tattoos or copy another person's design. i believe since a tattoo is something that will be on your body the rest of your life it should really mean something to you and you can't get that sort of significance from something you copied that looked cool or pretty or whatever. i suggest you think about why you want that particular tattoo, how it relates to your life and what you can to to personalize it in order to symbolize the importance. talk to a tattoo artist where you plan on getting it done at, they will help you. plus no one will ever have the same tattoo as you!

Ear stretching.............?

Resolved Question

Ear stretching.............?

i have a few questions about ear stretching.
im wanting to know how long after getting ear pierced you have to wait untill you start stretching.
does all places that do piercings do stretching and also (roughly) how much it would cost

Thanks =D

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

You should wait at least six weeks for your earholes to heal before trying to stretch it. After that you can by stretchers at hot topic or spencers which are pretty affordable (use stainless steel ones to prevent infection). Start off small, when stretching the higher the number the smaller it is so start with like a 16 guage and work your way down.
If you want to go to a actual piercer (at a piercing or tattoo shop, not the mall) they will be able to pierce your ear with a guaged needle so you will have a bigger hole to start with. Happy Stretching!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I had mine done about a month ago, didn't hurt much at all getting it done. Had to eat liquids for a few days after(soup etc) and drink plenty of water to help keep it clean. And of course it swells a bit, so talking for a few days can be a bit awkward.

Overall I'd say it's more annoying due to the swelling than painful. Though I do know someone who found it very painful, I suppose it depends on your own pain threshold.

Other Answers (8)

  • It doesn't hurt having it pierced, the real pain is the aching afterwards.

The procedure will be similar to this: your mouth will be cleaned with mouthwash and a clamp will be put on it.
Then the needle will go in from the bottom of your tongue up and the bar will be put down the middle of the hollow needle. The ball will now be screwed on and you can rinse your mouth out.
The bar will be extra long to allow for your tongue to swell, after a few weeks you should go back there and get the bar changed for a smaller one.
The problems you might face are: chipped teeth, developing a lisp and possible infection.
You can get clear bars for when your at work that hides it, but these can be only be used with healed piercings (as plastic can harbour bacteria).

    http://www.bmezine.com/

    Source(s):

  • Hiya,i've got mine done twice so i have two bars in and it doesn't hurt it's really quick,if it's a good piercer they ask you to sit down clamp tongue and take in a very deep breath in while they put the needle through. After it can ache but take paracetamol ibuprofen and remember to gargle and swill often with boiled salt water so you don't get an infection,my first one didn't swell at all but the second one did a bit but all in all the experience was wicked and that was 3yrs ago i still have both my tongue piercings and i love them!! I have a job and it never stopped me getting it,good luck whatever you decide you'll be fine :-)
  • It doesn't hurt to have it done, but it really takes some getting used to (eating and talking). It can very easily become infected too and that hurts like hell. Once you're used to it no-one will be able to tell its there unless you choose to show it to them. It's easy to be discrete and keep it hidden if you think it will be a problem.
  • I had mine done a while ago and the actual piercing didn't hurt too bad, but afterwards it was real sore. It was kinda tough to eat for a few days, which sucked because I love food! After that I had absolutely no problems with it. I took it out for nursing school but I'll probably get it redone in the future!
  • there are allot of problems with getting your tougue pireced you have to have perfect dental hygene, there has been people that has layed down and there tougue has swelled to the point of suffication,it has to be kept clean, and yes it's not that cute when looking for a job.not everybody's into it.
  • in all honesty, it does not hurt at all. The only thing u should feel is the clamp that they use to hold your tongue out and still. Takes only seconds. Keep your mouth clean, drink water and low acid food to prevent irritation.

    Source(s):

  • I got mine done a few weeks ago and it really didn't hurt at all :)
I went on a website called bmezine and read loads of stories about other peoples tongue piercing experiences as well to calm my nerves !
  • It really, really hurts. My friend fainted and they had to stop.

**Can SWITCHING moisturiser be BAD** ??`?

Resolved Question

**Can SWITCHING moisturiser be BAD** ??`?

i just switched from a different face moisturizer to another brand, is this okay ?? will it mess/disfigure my face ??? (lol maybe im worrying too much)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Nope, it won't do any actual harm. I mean, your skin may react to the change, good or bad, (the new one can cause breakouts, or an allergic reaction, or whatever -- as can anything) but it can't actually disfigure you or anything, haha.

Other Answers (6)

  • I don't think I have bought the same moisturiser twice in a row EVER! As I tend to like to try different ones out - and look for bargains - it isn't often the same one needs to be tried twice unless it is an absolute bargain.
  • no i switch moisturizer all the time! its not bad. its good to moisturize your face! remember tho, if your allergic to any indgredients in the moisturizer..DONT USE IT!! it would make you breakout..and thats bad!

    Source(s):

  • it can be bad if the one before was working and the new one irritates your skin or you are allergic to some of the ingredients.
  • You can't just switch in the middle like that! This might cause the planets to misalign.
  • Hi Trendy. Yes you should try and stick to the same one are you could make your face sore.
  • No switching them will not do any harm.

*****Whens the BEST time to pop a ZIT** ???**?

Resolved Question

*****Whens the BEST time to pop a ZIT** ???**?

its night, nearly going to bed. i just washed and moisturized my face. is it best to pop my zit an hour later before i go to bed or WAIT FOR TOMOROW morning ???

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

i like to wait until it is big and full and really red so that when i pop it its like shooting out big wads of mashed potatoes and milky gravy.....

There are currently no comments for this question.

Other Answers (6)

  • if you pop a zit too soon, you could end up scarring your face. so the best thing to do is to let it come up naturally..

A good way that i have found to keep the embarrassment away and the zits from coming is that whenever I feel one is about to come to the surface, I put a little bit of a mud mask treatment over the area and the surrounding areas. What happens is it pulls it up and out. I usually put the treatment on before bed for about 15 minutes and then wash it away and the next morning i cant even tell that i was going to have a zit there. the treatment i use is by Castle Baths.

    http://www.castlebaths.com/dead-sea-mud.…
  • Apply Clearisil Acne Treatment cream with 10% benzoyl - works real fast at reducing spots/ zits!! Better than popping. If you must pop it, only pop when it's yellowy as this means it's "ripe", popping too soon increases chance of infection and scarring.

Wash your hands, use clean tissue/ cotton buds, then clean the spot and soothe with warm water. Avoid applying anything to it after and wash hands to avoid spreading bacteria. =o)
  • This might seem like a weird answer but hey this might just be the place for it. What has worked for me and I can only speak for myself, is whenever I have a zit i dab a bit of toothepaste of it before I got to bed at night and in the morning its ready to be popped. It has a clear head and is usually quite easy to pop without scarring.

    Source(s):

  • DON'T POP IT!!
It will leave you with a horrible red mark and could possible scar, and will actually take longer for it to fade!
Just apply a spot cream onto it (I recommend clearasil) and it should be gone in no time :)
And throughout the day simply use a concealer to hide it - but be sure to wash it off at night !
    xxx
  • pull the skin apart either side of the spot and if it's ready to pop it'll pop. squeezing it pushes it more into your skin causing it to last longer
  • it duznt matter wen u pop it... only matters how u pop it and how u take care of it after u pop it...

  • If you take that photo into your tattooist and explain your ideas then they will be able to draw it up for you no problem. In my experience they've never charged me for that service. That way your tattooist has more of an idea of what you like and how exactly you want your tattoo to look. Plus it'd mean you can talk to, and get to know, your tattooist before taking the step of getting it done.

    Source(s):

  • Oooh nice. I've taken my ideas to a tattoo artist who is doing it for me. I've been charged £20 but if I then get him to do the design he deducts the cost of the draw up
  • Here's a radical suggestion - why not get your tattooist involved with the design? That's what a good tattooist does - and they usually don''t charge for it.
  • You have such a wide selection of stars, why not take 'em along and ask for your chosen one to be done by the tattooist?

Second lobe piercing next to 6mm (2G)?

Resolved Question

Second lobe piercing next to 6mm (2G)?

Im at 4mm at the moment...soon to be 6mm then stopping! =3
If i were to get second lobe piercings next to them and eventually stretch those to 3 or 4mm, would the piercings be in a strange place if i downsize?
Im hoping that if i eventually decide to go back to standard size they would be in the right place xD

*This is a lecture free zone. Its my body and i will do what i like with it. Please leave your opinions on flesh tunnels to yourself, as quite frankly i couldn't give a monkeys =] *

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Depends what you mean by 'right place'. Right place as in socially accepted distance between first and second lobe piercings? Unlikely. Right place as in two piercings on your ear lobe? Yes.

There's no guarantees for what your ears will end up looking like even if you don't decide to get a second lobe piercing, and definitely if you get a second and stretch it. Even stretching your first piercing can alter where it sits on your ear lobe, because by definition, stretching the hole creates extra tissue which isn't going to go anywhere just because you decide to take your plugs out. And there's no guarantee that they'll even go down to 'standard size' - they're unlikely to, whether you want them to or not lol.

  • I use Olay daily facial cleansing wipes or the regeneration ones. It's about £3-£5 for a box of 25 or 30 but they are great, just add water and instant lather.

I'd recommend cutting them into four tho and using just one of two at a time as they go a long way =o) Technically if you cut them up, they last longer so you could have like 100 days worth of wipes for just £5.00.

NOTE…I HAVE WRITTEN THIS LONG ANSWER TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS RELATING TO BECAUSE THEY COME UP SO OFTEN:

OILY SKIN
ACNE
FACIAL LIGHTENING
DEALING WITH ACNE SCARRING
DEALING WITH STRETCH MARKS
IMPROVING SKIN TONE
PIMPLES
BLACKHEADS
EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT
INGROWING HAIRS
BODY ACNE

…THE INFO'S BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE. I'M 36 NOW SO I'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES FOR QUITE A WHILE AND THOUGH MUCH OF THIS ANSWER MAY BE IRRELEVANT, I HOPE THERE'LL BE SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP YOU!

GOOD LUCK!!!

RECOMMENDED SKIN CARE…I use clean and clear cream wash (good for sensitive skin or those that dry to easy) or Neutrogena clear skin make up remover wash. Both contain salicylic acid which prevents breakouts and gradually evens the skin tone out too. This is the most important thing you can do. I've tried various 'oil free'/'salicylic acid' moisturisers but the best I've found is the clean and clear on…I found the Neutrogena one actually seemed to aggravate my skin.

EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT!...The toothpaste things works! Put on a blob at night and put a bit of tissue over it so it doesn't make a mess. It cools the area down and reduces the inflammation. I also recommend the clean and clear advantage spot treatment gel.

HORMONAL SPOTS…Any female with spots I'd recommend trying dianette or yasmine contraceptive pills because if it's hormonal that can sort everything out within weeks…though it can take a couple of months to get used to the pill.

FACIAL ACNE: AVOID…Don't use harsh scrubs and peroxide products daily like some people do; that can dry your skin and make produce MORE oil...just exacerbating the problem. Many face packs I've tried and those blackhead removal strips too seem to have caused problems.

I've also had problems with those 'facial wipes' made by clean and clear and Neutrogena because they're too drying and when the top layer's too dry, the oil gets stuck underneath and causes more problems!

Some say chocolate doesn't affect it…it does for me and I don't know how or why that should be but certain foods do seem to affect break out. Coffee is one of those things that seems to aggravate my skin too. So look out for anything you eat that might be making it worse.

HAIR PRODUCTS…Be careful what products you use in your hair if it's long - certain conditioners have causes me to break out at times. Also be careful of hair gels, hair sprays and serums.

INGROWING HAIRS…For men or women…if you have oily skin, these are more likely. For men…use a facial scrub and avoid moisturisers that don't have salicylic acid in them if you use a moisturiser. Some hair conditioners are much better lubricants than shaving cream too – so you might want to try that, and then was afterwards with a clean and clear was etc. Also I recommend the microdermabrasion kit mentioned later.

For women…waxing seems to cause the main problem – we pay most attention to our faces. Waxing seems to be the main culprit as opposed to shaving or hair removal creams…to avoid in-growing hairs, make sure to exfoliate. I recommend using those exfoliating gloves – that way, you can use any kind of shower gel.

NUTRITION…I recommend taking a 100% multi vitamin/mineral complex – those little spots you get around your mouth can be due to a vitamin b deficiency for example. Also I recommend Omega 369 oils every day because they improve blood flow.

OLD WIVES TALE??...It's an 'old wives tale' type remedy - but a spoonful of cider vinegar and honey in hot water 3 times a day is meant to help EVERYTHING. It tastes nice too...kinda like honey and lemon X

HYDRATION….Keep your hydration right by drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol and too much salt!

DEALING WITH SCARRING…there's an excellent micro-dermabrasion scrub called 're-finish' by L'oreal. You only use it a couple of times a week (and use at night because it makes your face red!). It really works not just with the colouring but also the texture - smoothes it back out. It comes with it's own moisturiser which I don't use but I use the scrub at night a couple of times a week and put bio oil on which it supposed to help clear scarring and even skin tone.

If you get your skin relatively under control, try using '21 days Fade Cream' (which I get from eBay) because it quickly clears up any scarring. It's a skin lightening cream and is very effective as long as your skin type agrees with it. Bio oil is a good alternative!

Also, to detract from the colour variations in your skin tone, I recommend using Benefit's Posie Tint or Benetint lipstain – this can be put on your cheeks and lips (which also makes your teeth look whiter as an added bonus). Lipstain is better than lipstick because it doesn't smudge and it stays on; you can put lip balm or lip gloss on over it. Also, if you use it (SPARINGLY) on your cheeks, it is just like putting water on there; it doesn't aggravate the skin or cause breakouts.

Tatto Opinions on what would look best?

I'm getting a fairy done on my lower back and also wanted my kids and hubbys name done in elvin script (hat Morelen has kindly done for me) now should I have the words in a straight line under the fairy, in a circle around the fairy or other thought was just the initials in elvin script on my wrist. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I think it would look cool having the script going around the fairy. One thing though. sorry I know you didn't ask about this but I would highly suggest not getting your husband's name tattooed on you. You're kids will always and forever be your kids. Unfortunately your husband may not. I obviously don't know you're life or your relationship. But if something were to happen, would you still want his name on you? Go for what you really want and enjoy :D

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I started by the eight grade. I was allowed before make-up be cause it gives a girl a clean and refined look. Girls do care about their image the older they get. Waxing and tweezing probably has the same time frame before the hair grows back but waxing is quicker and less annoying. If you tweeze wet the hair first or rub some baby oil before. The hair eases out quicker and it is less painful.

  • You just have to be careful.
Make sure you stretch the skin taut and tweeze
in the direction of the hair growth.

Make sure you have self control as young girls
can get almost addicted to tweezing and end up
with WAY too thin trashy looking brows.

    Tweeze in natural light.
& Just to start off with don't tweeze off tooo much.
Just get the "stray" hairs out of the way (tidying) and then
gradually you can start tweezing, and actually shaping
them when you become more skilled.

    Source(s):

  • I've never heard of getting saggy eyelids from tweezing eyebrows, I'm not even sure how that would actually work. Just go for it.

But don't pluck too much or as you get older you'll have problems with thinning eyebrows. My mum plucked hers way too much in the 60's/70's and literally has no eyebrows now. Not a good look.
  • Yeah i pluck mine all the time. Some ppl are just prob tryig to get to to buy something!

  • WTF @ saggy eyelids?!?!!?!?!?!

Just pluck them, that's it. That's all there is to it.

I would say yes. Never use body lotion on your face because it is the wrong type of moisture. Use something that is intended for the face which can be found at your local drugstore.

  • Some baby lotion can break out your skin because it has a oil in it. Read the ingredient in the baby lotion if it has oil in it there is an chance that your skin will break out.
  • anything oily can help with the curse of acne, i suggest for you not use it on your face, but keep using it elsewhere, it is good for the skin.
  • Any lotion period can cause acne. People think just because something says baby in it that it is non allergenic, which is a fallacy.
  • If you've got acne, don't use baby oil (especially on your face). Think how greasy it is. Why not go to boots and have a look at the mens moisturisers? They should have oil free ones etc.
  • you might be allergic to it...
usually lotion causes acne.. (try something that dries up the skin)
  • May be stop it for a while and watch the result

Do spot products actually help?

It all depends on what type of skin and what type of acne you have. A dermatologist is the best for helping to figure this out. I personally have combination skin with oily nose, forehead, and chin, and I've had success with Neutrogena 2-in-1 Fight and Fade Gel. When I was younger I also used Clean and Clear cream (I think it's called PersaGel) that had 10 percent benzoyl peroxide. It cleared a lot of zits up and also faded some scars, but it will bleach any fabric it comes in contact with, so be careful if you use it. Now that I'm in my late 20s it seems to be a bit too harsh for my skin and actually triggers more breakouts, but if you are younger you might find it works pretty well. Good luck!

I am a teenage male and use vaseline...Can baby vaseline cause acne?

I am a teenage male and use vaseline...Can baby vaseline cause acne?

Yes it can cause acne.

It's a mineral oil, a byproduct of crude oil production, it's basically waste material that they package to sell on. All it does is sit on the surface of your skin, collecting dirt and bacteria, clogging up pores. Vasaline is just generally not a good thing to use on your skin full-stop, if you suffer from acne you may want to look into oil cleansing method, pretty much the best way to keep your skin healthy and clear.

  • Vaseline is petroleum. When applied, nothing gets in the skin and nothing gets out. So yes it can cause acne. Its just suffocating the skin.

  • No it can not cause acne, it is a barrier to water - so I do not think it will help your acne, as it will stop fresh air getting to your skin.
  • Yes very much so! That would be a HUGE cause! You're putting a thick oil on your skin, I think that would be common sense....
  • plot??
